Imp thread on 🇱🇧: Each municipal territory in Dahiya includes dozens of neighborhoods dense w contested histories, palimpsests of memories& multiple ranges of socio-spatial practices connecting humans& nonhuman things. Each bombing erases thousands of these. This is what I mourn.
Urbiciding Dahiya 🧵 Dahiya is the place name for 4 municipal territories: Ghobeyri, Haret Hreik, Bourj Brajneh, & Mrayjeh-Tahweeta-Laylaki. It also includes sections of the municipal areas of Chiyah, Hadath & Choueifat. Map by Issa al-Hajj, AUB-MUPP 2019 graduate.
