The beautiful bee orchid proudly on display in the chalk grassland of the Country Park. Did you know it can take as long as six years for a bee orchid to go from seed to flower? However tempting, it is illegal to pick or uproot orchids and other wildflowers. 📷 Ruth James

The South Downs has been a place of worship for centuries. Pick a day to head to Chanctonbury Ring. Whilst likely an Iron Age hillfort, a Roman temple has been discovered on the site and superstitions still abound about witches and the Devil. 📷 @brighton_photo

Amazin' Grazin' Ponies make for fine conservationists. Grazing on the scarp, they keep the scrub in check, helping wildflowers to flourish in the spring and summer. #SevenSisters

Seaford Head offers some of the best views of the cliffs. If ever visiting, we politely request staying well away from the cliff edge and base. Cliff falls happen at random and without warning. Please enjoy the view well away from the edge. 📷 Matthew Gibson #SevenSisters
