We'll learn about Australia's intraplate earthquakes in a few weeks in #GEOS2111. Australia isn't as seismically quiet as you might think!
The magnitude 4.1 near Woods Point VIC was the first M4+ earthquake in four months in our map/coverage area, and was felt in Melbourne. A magnitude 2.8 southwest of Mount Mary SA, and a 2.5 mine-related event near Bendigo VIC round out last week's top 3 earthquakes.

My kids absolutely love #MapMen and were chuffed to see their mum appear in one of the episodes! To read more about the phantom Sandy Island, check out our @AGU_Eos article from a few years back @EarthByteGroup @sydneyunigeo
New episode of #MapMen with me and @markcooperjones Why did Google Maps have a big black smudge before 2012? And why did it disappear? And what does it have to do with Captain Cook? And what is a phantom island? Share and enjoy! 🗺️ https://t.co/DF2D6hjNfn

A timely thread that I'll mention at the @sydneyunigeo HDR writing retreat tomorrow
I’ve handled the review of > 1000 papers at @nature. Over time, you notice aspects of presentation on which reviewers tend to comment. In the interests of minimizing hassles during review, I offer the following suggestions (a bit targeted to climate papers).
