National Night Out is a one of the best events we hold every year. It’s a great time to thank our Cincinnati Police for all they do, and keep strengthening the bond between them and the community. Glad I was able to stop by Districts 1 + 2 last night despite the weather!

Last year, the Ault Park Fireworks were on the brink of being canceled. Then, the community stepped up to save them. Cincinnati never ceases to amaze me. I’m so proud to have played a role in keeping this treasured holiday tradition going last year. See you tonight, Ault Park!

Last Friday, I put forward a proposal to fund a lateral police class on top of the recruit classes in our budget. It’s a first step, but it provides badly needed officers immediately to our force to not just outrun attrition - but start growing back to where we need to be.

JUST IN: The person who ran their car into a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy working a traffic detail near UC, killing them, was the father of a man shot and killed by a Cincinnati police officer one day prior, Chief Teresa Theetge confirmed.

I will be voting in favor of the proposed planned development in Hyde Park that is coming in front of Equitable Growth and Housing next week. My full statement:

Northside’s community development corporation, NEST, found out in December that a key piece of property in their business district was for sale and they needed to move fast. Thanks to Quick Strike Acquisition fund, they were able to close on the property in March. That’s huge.
