Happy Entry Into Force Day, world! It's been 3⃣ years since the #TPNW's #EIF, we've seen 2⃣ meetings of states parties, and here's 1⃣ take on the #nuclearban treaty's accomplishments in its journey so far.

Moments ago, the third #NPTPrepCom failed to adopt any outcome, reflecting a horrifying lack of urgency in response to current risks. Yet we've been encouraged by constructive leadership from #TPNW states, and their efforts to reinforce non-proliferation and disarmament norms.

Kyrgyzstan (which has previously abstained on resolutions relating to the TPNW) has today announced they will join the treaty. 👏🏼🇰🇬#nuclearban.
In today's general debate at the #NPTPrepCom, Kyrgyzstan announced that “has made the political decision to join to the TPNW” because they are “committed to ensuring that future generations live without the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction.” 👏🇰🇬.
