This project was one of the first things that I began working on when I was first elected in 2008. After many twists, turns, and obstacles, we can finally celebrate the full reopening of the new and improved station. (2/3)

This week, we officially cut the ribbon to celebrate the full reopening of the new Winchester Center Station! The station is fully accessible with raised platforms and elevators, along with improved lighting, signage, canopies, and integration with other modes of transit. (1/3)

Expanding on protections first passed in 2022, this legislation prohibits state agencies & law enforcement from cooperating with other states or federal investigations into legally-protected reproductive or transgender health care provided in Mass. (3/3).

The Shield Act 2.0 was passed with bipartisan support & adds a layer of protection for patients and providers at a time when attacks on reproductive and transgender rights are escalating on multiple fronts, including from the Trump administration & other states. (2/3).

By passing the Shield Act 2.0, the Massachusetts Senate is protecting patients, providers, & others from retaliatory attacks & puts people’s health before politics. The bill fortifies protections for those seeking & providing reproductive & transgender care. (1/3)

These actions will harm our students, increase the burden on working families, and put even more pressure on municipalities and school districts across the state that are struggling with their finances. (3/3).

This funding was supposed to be used for summer and after school programs, classroom materials, behavioral and mental health supports, bullying prevention and intervention, and more across the state. (2/3).

Once again, the Trump administration is choosing the path of cruelty and chaos by waiting until the last possible moment to announce their unconstitutional decision to hold back federal funding for our schools that Congress already appropriated. (1/3).

The Mass. Senate just launched its new, digital 2023-2024 session report, making it easier for you to see & learn about what we’ve recently done. The report includes fact sheets & more about the Senate’s legislative efforts and accomplishments. Visit:

Research has shown a multitude of benefits to student’s social skills, academic performance, mental health, and safety after implementing cell phone restrictions, and I will continue to keep advocating to protect our students. (4/4).

Local school districts would decide what works best for their schools and community with exceptions for health and safety, emergencies, students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and other reasonable exceptions for their students. (3/4).

The bill moving this week in the Senate after a unanimous, bipartisan vote by the Senate members of the Education Committee would require school districts to implement policies for student’s personal electronic devices, including a bell-to-bell restriction. (2/4).

There are many negative effects linked to the growing issue of student cell phone usage at school, including diminished academic performance, poorer mental health, worse relationship building/social skills, reduced safety during emergencies, & more. (1/4).
