In 2019 I had one fruit tree. A fig tree. I had zero idea what I was going to do with all of the fruit it was producing. I wondered if I could figure out how to make jam. I found a recipe and sure enoughā¦not only could I make it, it was delish! Then I wondered if I could

I waited too long to come out for a walk. Itās 85 and the sun is beating down but the air is absolutely heavy with the scent of citrus blossoms. It smells like home. Smells Iāve grown up with and a heat that has burned my skin every year since I was a kid. Being a redhead means

Grow your own if you can!!! There are varieties of pomegranate for almost every growing zone...even the cold ones.
The company behind POM juice, a juice marketed as a superfood antioxidant-rich drink, was just named Californiaās 2nd-largest user of paraquat ā one of the most toxic herbicides still allowed in the U.S. Over 56,000 pounds sprayed in a single year⦠on crops used to make this so

I have quite the to-do list in front of me today as well as getting in a few small walks (trying to gently get my knee back in order) and I have a lot of listening to do. I LOATHE these stupid iPhone headphone warnings and they cannot be turned off. I do not need to be managed

My jujube is waking up very slowly and it made me worry but then I look at my neighbors full sized jujube and see theirs is taking its sweet time as well.

Just started the coffee and opened the front door to let in some air. Itās still dark out but I found papa bird on his perch watching for danger. Mama bird is in the nest up in the corner of the doorway. Every spring a new pair (or maybe the same pair for the last five

I love this! I literally spent a couple decades scanning for threats every minute of every day as my job/life! Now I am retired and I spend my day scanning my garden for every single little uplifting glimmer from bugs to birds to baby fruit emerging. My life is full of peace and
Learned about something called a "glimmer" recently. It's the opposite of a trigger. A tiny moment that makes you feel good. Coffee hitting right. Sun on your face. Your dog losing its mind when you walk in the door. Most of us are trained to scan for threats all day. Flip that.

Spring means asparagus season ā and itās one of my favorite vegetables to preserve. When asparagus is fresh from the garden or market, itās crisp, tender, and full of flavor. Thatās the perfect time to capture it in jars. One of my favorite ways to preserve it? Pickled

Good morning! Waking up to birdsong and little visitors to the feeder. They are harder to see with the roller shade down. I ay need to raise it every night so that in the morning I can see them better. A very peaceful way to wake up every morning.

Has anyone started watching the new Scarpetta series? I read all of Patricia Cornwalls books early in the series but they started to get a little off kilter so I stopped. The show is actually pretty gory and Jamie Curtis screaming in every scene is so gratingā¦..Iām

I once stopped at a 7-11 a few blocks from my house after work. The city I worked in was an hour and a half commute drive away. I had my young son in the car with me. A group of d boys were out front and greeted me with "HI, Detective (insert my last name)". I moved not too long
I once sold a couple a couch in Costco. Two months later I hiked a mountain and they were there, with their kids, at the summit. Opposite side of the state. They pieced together who I was, walked over, and began asking me warranty questions with their backs to the sunset
