We have just ended an emergency session, Mr. Ransom has authorization from the Council to send letters to all four County DOH and Executives asking their approval to play all sports in Section IX. With approvals, we are ready.

This morning the .@SectionIXSports. Section IX Athletics Council passed a motion for return to play games and scrimmages no earlier than May 1st, 2020. This can change to a later date depending on the evolving crisis. We hope everyone is staying safe during this difficult time.

We mourn the loss of coaching icon, Jerry Kaplan. Sadly, Jerry passed away yesterday; he was the basketball coach at O'Neill High School for 34 years. He recorded over 560 wins. His teams won 19 OCL Championships and 10 S9 Championships. Travel well, Jerry. You will be missed.

Section IX is sad to report the passing of longtime Roscoe AD, Fred Ahart. Fred was a leader in Section IX and a mentor to many. He will be missed tremendously, not only in Roscoe, but across every school in Section IX through his leadership.

Great news for all students - information on athletics as it becomes available. Right now, we are delayed until September 21st for the fall season.
Every region is well below our COVID infection limit, therefore all school districts are authorized to open. If the infection rate spikes, the guidance will change accordingly. School districts are required to submit plans to NYS for review.
