Since people are briefly paying attention - Meet Ofren, aka AC. He was born Dec 22, 1982, in Havana, Cuba, and killed in action March 29, 2011, in Kunar Province, Afg. He was 28. Our son was three. AC served 10 years and four deployments in the US Army.

He got his wisdom teeth out and had a doctor’s note. 😂 I can’t with this stuff and we’re a hot second into the school year. This school is about to be shook as far as how many days he misses because he’s aging out of every event he qualifies for. Take me to court, I don’t care.

Ofren’s daughter hasn’t been to Miami since she was little so we made a whole family trip of it. ❤️ The 3rd picture just makes me laugh. Today would have been mine and Ofren’s 18th wedding anniversary so I’m sure he’s happy we spent the weekend with his family where he grew up.

.@American same for your staff. Sometimes we get free bags and sometimes we don’t which is fine. Our agent was so confused by our IDs and also asked if my husband was with me. Nope, he passed. She didn’t know if we qualified or not so I paid the $120.

Our kids also age out and lose their military ID’s so my daughter doesn’t have one. The supervisor was super nice but she wasn’t sure which of us she could let use the line. I know it’s new but possibly some more training is a good idea?

.@TSA can you clarify the Honor line rule? BNA was a smidge confused because we’re a Gold Star family but only two of us have military ID’s. They both say Active-DEC (deceased) but no one knows what that means and kept asking if my husband was with us. He’s not portable so no.

I was just the host. Alston had never seen Ofren’s senior photos and still rolled up with the leather jacket, earrings and mustache. He is his father’s child.

Unfortunately, Melissa isn’t going to see the whales. They aren’t even sure if she’s going to make it home from the hospital. My heart is shattered for this family but every penny will go to whatever they need. Pray for them.

TN no longer allows phones in the classroom so imagine my son’s panic over his friends at UTC yesterday. He couldn’t get updates on their safety. So now we have to worry that our kids can’t text us AND they can’t text their friends in those situations. It’s ridiculous and scary.
