Senate Rs are being pressed to find more cuts to help pay for their Big Beautiful Bill — and one option is changes to Medicare. “I think the same logic that you use to find to implement efficiencies in Medicaid…you can use at Medicare,” Tillis said. “These are billions and.

For months, they said they weren’t cutting Medicaid to pay for a giant tax cut. They just cut Medicaid to pay for a giant tax cut.

Our fire service is facing a recruitment and retention crisis, and we need to fix it before we have a public safety crisis. Proud of the work our office is doing with fire leaders across the state to come up with solutions.

Firefighters put their lives on the line for us every day. But increasingly, there aren't enough of them to keep our communities safe. This morning, we released a report on CT's fire service recruitment and retention crisis based on an extensive survey of departments.

Every day people tell me they feel hopeless, scared and angry about what's happening in this country. I get it. But don’t for one second forget this truth:. The people 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 have the power, and we 𝓬𝓪𝓷 change what's happening by continuing to stand up and speak out.

This is 1000% true. I became a Democrat because they were reformers trying to solve problems and help people. We’ve become the party of explaining things and defending institutions and broken systems. No. We need to be reformers and builders again.

Francis’ commitment to promoting a more welcoming church committed to justice and combating inequality was, to me, exactly what Catholicism and frankly the world needed. His voice will be missed, but I hope we continue on the path he dedicated his life and papacy to.

Proud we got this done. Literally the least we can do for those who do so much for us.

Firefighters put their health and lives on the line every day for our communities. They should never have to worry about their own health care. Sadly, because of repeated exposure to smoke and toxic chemicals in the line of duty, many do.

I don’t do medical shows but The Pitt is the best and most compelling show that I’ve watched in a while. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something to check out.

The story of our country has been written by ordinary people who, in challenging times, join their neighbors to stand up, speak out and help change the course we’re on. So proud to see people in cities and towns across CT show up in the rain today to let their voices be heard.

I'm getting a lot of questions about tariffs so I wrote a quick Substack (my first!) about what this means for CT. Yes, we can and will play defense against what comes out of DC but we also need to stay on offense when it comes to building a better CT.

Absolutely brutal to lose like that in OT but congrats to @UConnMHOC and Coach Cavanaugh on an incredible season and playoff run. Big year for a great and growing program.

Let’s hear how ending a program that improves how pediatricians are informed of a newborn’s potential rare (and fatal) genetic disease is “rooting out waste, fraud and abuse” and “Make America Healthy Again.”. Spoiler: it’s not. It’s just dumb and dangerous.
