Well designed RCT shows patients randomized to an exercise program had substantially improved survival after adjuvant chemotherapy for colon cancer. - 5 yr disease-free survival 80.3% vs 73.9% (HR 0.72) - 8 yr overall survival 90.3% vs 83.2% (HR 0.63) This is groundbreaking! 1/

Excited to share our published review on AAS 💉 use among recreational athletes and CV🫀risk. Particularly given recent announcement of ‘Enhanced Games’ which encourage PED use such as AAS. Huge thanks to @DrPRao for ongoing guidance/support.

For those interested in sports cardiology and genetics, below are insights based on last 100 referrals (~60% sports/40% genetics) (Over the past year @BidmcCvi I’ve been seeing athletes with cardiac conditions and caring for patients in the CV genetics program led by @UTahirMD)

🫀Does exercise intensity or duration impact heart health more? A study shows longer exercise duration at lower intensity is linked to higher coronary artery calcification, while higher intensity reduces it Balance your workouts to maximize benefits ⏳🏋🏻 https://t.co/dCviALJYHG

Extreme exercise and longevity: detrimental or beneficial? https://t.co/qHyY6J8sT5 In a retrospective study of the 1st 200 athletes to run < 4 minute miles, there was evidence of several (~5) years longer lifespan compared with the general population. Still an unsettled question,
