This is a big prize and you normally have to be a huge publisher to win it. Most of the books on the list are by the billionaire publishers, which is why it is amazing, as a minnow in the pond, to be recognised for our hard work and perspicacity. Such applause keeps us going.
With thanks to @BaileysOfficial and @audibleuk, and our wonderful judges @KitdeWaal, Bryony Gordon, Diana Evans, @debsjoseph , and Amelia Warner. Learn more about the longlist here:

“A family saga which manages to be both intimate and epic, this novel travels seamlessly across countries, cultures and characters. It is beautifully structured and deeply moving, gradually revealing how trauma is met by resilience across the decades.” The Judges.
Congratulations to @ScotStreetPress for being long listed for the 2025 Republic of Consciousness Prize for Small Presses
