A @waymo predicts the future. It predicts where that bicycle rider will be in a few seconds, then makes its plan accordingly. What if you had an AI that could predict your next move? That's the topic @IrenaCronin and I wrote about in our newsletter this week. Personal time

I have seen some wonderful things tonight like a robot pool sweep and a grass cutting robot that works way better. I don’t care what you call it, CES is still hot. I tried to hate it. Now love it. Went to @AnnGreenberg’s party and had several nerdy conversations, after

Ten years ago this month, I went to Seattle and saw VR games from twelve awesome developers at the Steam VR Developers Showcase. I'm sad today to learn of a 70% staff reduction at @CloudheadGames. Phaser Lock Interactive is gone. Tilt Brush is gone. Futuretown probably gone.

ChatGPT is now America’s AI doctor and that’s both amazing and terrifying. According to OpenAI’s new report, over 40 million Americans now use ChatGPT daily for health-related questions. That’s 5% of all global chats about symptoms, insurance, and even medical bills. The spike

My first job building Apple II motherboards in 1978 was made obsolete by a machine I ran at HP in 1980. When I was 15. Now almost 61. The nerds are always trying to replace me. :-) Yet I am still here. I know one thing. Small businesses can hire more people, quicker, than big

Been working on this for a long time—Large Video Planner is finally out. We found that large-scale video pretraining can actually teach models surprisingly accurate physics. With strong camera consistency and realistic hand shaping, we can use the model directly for robotics

Introducing Large Video Planner (LVP-14B) — a robot foundation model that actually generalizes. LVP is built on video gen, not VLA. As my final work at @MIT, LVP has all its eval tasks proposed by third parties as a maximum stress test, but it excels!🤗 https://t.co/wjD54YFK3k

With NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, it's not what he says, it's what he shows. And what he shows is that everybody's going to buy another data center.

Soon it will be about the information that the fleet provides to you. If there are eight Teslas ahead of you, that will make the autonomous system much better than with other car companies that have no fleet in front of you. This will be clear by the end of the year.

The question I see others asking is “does NVIDIA Alpamayo affect Tesla?” The short answer is: not really. The long answer is that it sort of gets everyone else back into the game of adding autonomy to their vehicles, but here is the problem: the game is about to switch to

It’s weird that water became THE issue for why many people (publicly) dislike AI. Of all the concerns about AI use, even just limiting it to environmental concerns, water is among the least important. But when I speak with people, especially younger ones, water comes up first.
