Such a beautiful group of people! This was such a promising week of experiences.
On the first night of #BIPWeek, the @BlackinMarSci students met up with @danniwashington at her mural at Paul Laurence Dunbar K-8 Center in Miami! She shared her story about becoming a science communicator and gave the #BIMS students some words of encouragement. #BIMSTakeover

I juggle way too many projects and need to get a better system so that I can really maximize my time. I like the add emails to tasks feature in gmail. I have my planner too but I think I need something else. Recommendations?.

At this meeting with officials running for Asst. & Lt. Gov and I’m masked & one of the candidates (who is not masked) comes over to me and says “who are you?” while moving my braid 😑…then when I say my name she says “you’re a high schooler or student?” 😒.

Dinner was on hold which means they hadn’t eaten since lunch. Again, no regard for the students whatsoever. Just ridiculous. The woman who called the police on T said to me when I asked her so what about our kids, “sorry but I just couldn’t deal with the attitude”.

From the dive, dune restoration, and historical tour. We then were sitting in the parking lot at night time looking for hotels with help from folks via phone for at least 45 mins. We planned to take them to dinner after everyone changed but since we had to leave abruptly,.

So while T is packing her stuff with the cops at her door, I’m getting the students gathered and their luggage in the car, and Que is taking to the hotel staff. Some students didn’t have time to shower or anything since we just came back.
