Average attack angle by hit direction. Practice hitting low line drives oppo, and high line drives pull. Can help dial in the proper swing path.

Want to be a good hitter? live in the 5-14 AA range Lower batspeed should trend towards the low end Higher batspeed should trend towards the high end. Poor contact skills should trend towards the low end Good contact skills, can trend towards the high end IF batspeed is high

It takes some work going through the play by play data to get the info right now Hoping @GetGameChanger adds this stat to the hitting team stats, to help coaches evaluate their players bat to ball skills!

For high school coaches looking for the best way to evaluate their players Bat to Ball skills, you can use “in play %” (total balls in play/total swings) For MLB players it has a correlation of .87 to “Squared-up/swing” from statcast data

Really like an extra heavy bat for cleaning up bat drag. Helps tighten up the upper body and keep the elbow from getting too far in front of the hands Use a donut and put a roll of tape on the end of the bat Cue the hitter to hit LDs up the middle Simple and effective

3️⃣ Challenge Your Skills It’s time to push your limits. 🔥 Use drills that focus on ball flight, approach, swing decisions, breaking balls, or high velocity. ⚾ This is the bridge between practice and game performance. 📍 Another 30-40 intentional swings here.

2️⃣ Skill Work Target your specific needs. ⚾️ Pick 3-4 drills that address areas you want to improve. 📍 Perform these on a tee or with front toss, focusing on quality over quantity. 💪 Take 30-40 focused, intentional swings.

1️⃣ Prep Work Don’t swing to warm up—warm up to swing. 💡 Start with med ball or Waterbag drills to prime your body for fast, efficient movement.

This phenomenon is what happens when you try to teach kids moves that big leaguers are making. One of the biggest misconceptions is that you should pattern movement as early as possible based on what big leaguers are doing. Big leaguers went through an entire process in their
“Every time I thought stay back, I feel like it naturally brought me out of like an attack position…It was like, okay, you know, I’m in this stance, I’m in this posture. I’m just going to physically go attack the baseball….And it’s the exact opposite thought got those same

Seems to me just taking a couple steps and setting up closer to where you expect the ball to go would make more sense. And Ian Happs well below average range despite above average speed would agree
🚨 Left-Field Positioning Tip • LHH: Angle your body to the line. "Oppo flare" • RHH: Angle your body to the gap. "Hard gapper" ⭐️ Expecting the most likely outcome w/ your body & mind will take away more hits than you give up. Think aggressively before the ball is thrown.

Rapid fire band rotations The increased force required to stop and immediate reverse the bands rotation back forward, makes this an excellent exercise for golfers or any rotational athlete

I like this version for baseball players bc it keeps your head in line with your belt buckle like in the swing… too often with scoop tosses the head leans forward over the front hip and you aren’t rotating as much or in the same position as you would in the baseballs swing
Looking for ways to increase your rotational power. Try the backhand MB toss. If you have a radar gun to measure speed it can help track progress. I suggest using 2-6 lb med balls. Lighter is good, so you can focus on maximum speed. 3-5 reps, with 100% effort on each one
