Up to 36,000 cyclists a week are going to have their journeys ruined if Adams Road becomes a Busway. Sign our petition.

@camcycle @GreaterCambs @roxyfromoz Why would anyone turn the second busiest cycle route in Cambridge into a Busway? Adams Road links the city centre with the West Cambridge site. Keep it Bus Free for up to 4300 cyclists a day.

This nightmare is getting closer by the day. Adams Road, the busiest cycle route in Cambridge, is the victim of Clare Hall’s desperate attempt to get the busway rerouted. They’ve spent £250,000 so far. They don’t care about pedestrian and cycle safety.

A Cambridge College spent over £21,000 lobbying to get the C2C Busway re-routed via Adams Road, Cambridge’s busiest cycle route. How many lives will be endangered if CLARE HALL gets its way? A shocking waste of College funds. @camcycle @anjibennett

@stjohnscam @camcycle Last week it was ice, this week it’s mud. The second busiest cycle route in Cambridge shouldn’t be treated this way. Apparently St John’s (whose contractors caused this problem) are on the case. But no sign yet.

@CambsCC SIX days on and still a thick layer of ice on the pavement and a treacherous cycle track. Welcome to the Wild West: West Cambridge

A remote Cambridgeshire country lane? No. The second busiest cycle route in the greatest cycling city in Britain. What’s the cost of maintaining it versus injured pedestrians and cyclists? @CambsCC @Cambridge_Uni @camcycle

CALL THE COUNTY ARCHAEOLOGIST. We’re down to the cobblestones on West Road. Question: if this was on the pavement it would’ve been sorted. The fact it’s in the road means it hasn’t been fixed for months. Why?

Future streets of Hackney? More trees less parking.

Just heard that the GCP have changed their recommended route alignment for the final stage of the Busway having recognised the danger to cyclists using Adams Road. I hope the Executive Board support this decision. VERY grateful to @camcycle for all their support.

@BenHattonJourno @lewis_herbert This is what Adams Road, the busiest cycle route in Cambridge, could look like if the GCP stepped up to the mark, and cleared it of parked cars prioritising cyclists and pedestrians. Dumping 280 buses a day on it is not a solution.

@camcycle @sargemike Another graphic showing how Adams Road, the busiest cycle route in Cambridge, could be a showcase for how to prioritise cycling in a post Covid world. We are counting on Lewis Herbert not to trash it with 280 buses a day.

@lewis_herbert @camcycle Imagine this, Adams Road, the City’s busiest cycle route, redesigned putting cyclists first. This shows the junction with Coton path. Let’s hope tomorrow Lewis Herbert won’t wreck this cycling success story with 280 buses a day.

.@camcycle @walking_boston @Sam_in_Cam Fabulous sight! Some of the huge cracks and dangerously uneven surfaces of the Coton Cyclepath have finally been mended. Now remove parked cars from Adams Road and make it bus free. https://t.co/hwjXtukYBG

I’m not convinced. I almost came off after cycling over a pothole on Grange Road. I reported it. 2 days later a friend came off his bike on the same pothole. I have since heard a woman cyclist needed hospital treatment after coming off on the same pothole.

.@camcycle @walking_boston @ACarpenDigital This pothole on Mill Lane is now down to the original cobbles. It was reported on 27/1/20. At what point does it become unacceptable? At what point does someone take responsibility?

.@camcycle Great photo Sandie. And the GCP only got round to counting the number of bike users at the end of Oct 2019. Prevous data was 9 years old when bike numbers were 300% lower.
All's calm and safe on Adam's Road. Surely #GCP @GreaterCambs wouldn't dream of turning this into a dangerous #busway @lewis_herbert ?
