This is yet another example of how Combe Down Allotments benefit more than just the people who grow food here & why this site should be protected as a Local Green Space AND designated as an Asset of Community Value by Bath and North East Somerset Council!

’The last photo shows nine varieties of ‘weed’ that I foraged today from the Combe Down allotments. I enjoy the time I spend outside here, watching the wildlife, seeing the crops grow and having a chat to the people I meet.’

Meet Tortellini🐢😍 Tortellini belongs to Ali, one of our Combe Down villagers, who regularly pops along to Save Combe Down Allotments to pick delicious treats for him. Ali tells us: 'This green space provides Tortellini with a year round supply of free, fresh, nutritious food.

We now need YOUR letters of persuasion about how you personally value and benefit from Combe Down Allotments as written evidence for our application to nominate Combe Down Allotments as an Asset of Community Value….

They are now keen to write letters to Bath and North East Somerset Council , our local council about their concerns and why the Combe Down Allotments should be saved! The teachers are going to tie this into their English writing, as part of planing and writing persuasive letters.

They have decided to put up these posters, and more, around Combe Down village to create awareness of the threat of losing the allotments.

Wonderful, touching posters made to support our campaign by some of the local children from Combe Down Primary School! Year 4 came to visit us a couple of weeks ago as they have all been devastated by the news that the allotments could be destroyed…..
