But it was, for us, a decision we'd made for a few good reasons of safeguarding the brand, and also, the fans (from our perspective). That being said, being called "upstairs" to explain that was one of my more terrifying life moments.

I hated seeing them get dismissed because of a 'follow' (and you know, that it was 100% happening to female fans more often than men). So that's what happened. It didn't change much, because we saw the @ and #'s 99.9% of the time anyway.

As much as I have some horror stories of people sending me my house address, photos of me in public, telling me they hoped I was dead, trying to get me fired (and so on), I really adored so many of the fans I met and I took fuel from their love of the game.

b) We were seeing a lot of fans using the fact that they were followed by the Leafs on twitter as a way to assert that they were a better fan, a more important fan, a more valid fan than another on a regular basis. n. That was the bit I hated the most.

3. We knew that being followed by us 100% made fans feel special, and we fully understood that. The problem was a) following so many made using the feed often difficult (and our DM's a lot) but even more so. .

2. Some accounts were "trading" on the fact the Leafs followed them, using it as proof of their legitimacy when selling tickets etc. We'd seen around the league this happen and be very untrue and were concerned (esp. with TO ticket market).

Some of the accounts changed purpose, got hacked, rebranded, all of the above, and we left it. While there was plenty of real fans in there, with 15K+ accounts, it wasn't feasible to try and verify the realness of them all.

1. We were following a lot of accounts, and some very random, and also not always appropriate ones. There were definitely some One Direction fan accounts. I vividly remember a Jedward one, some NSFW & hella bots. Back in the day, we'd clearly gone follow for follow and then. .

You probably know it as, that time the Leafs made the playoffs, lost, then unfollowed everyone on twitter. While, technically, yes, that is what happened. Here's why though. Basically, I've been there a few months and I started to notice a few things.

Someone brought it up to me today, and it had been such a long time since it happened, but once upon a time, I looked up from my desk at the Leafs to see our twitter feed being talked about on CBC. And that's never good right?.

Unfortunately, the spider also vanished out of the room and is somewhere among the three rooms and storage space I am sleeping in and all my possessions I have to finish packing are. Sending a parent in to review tomorrow. I"m not that brave.

A spider the size of my hand just came through my bedroom door and climbed the wall. That's 100% the reason I sleep with a can of bug spray on my bedside table. I am also incredibly arachnophobic and ended up shrieking and standing on my bed, starkers brandishing the bottle.

The main thing I have taken from watching racing today is that @CierenFallonJr is adorable, and he's very done with this stewards meeting.

I am at my brother's house, and the postman just told me there was a female sports person in Canada with the same name as me, who used to go on @Steve_Dangle. Me: Oh. That is me.

As someone with complex mental health needs who works around sport, it troubles me we're spending more on rebuilding resources at the AIS than we've committed to a national early intervention service & Medicare mental health centres.

Funny how you can love a team, and people who love them and work there and want them to do well but also feel a little joy at the team itself’s suffering after they so significantly ruined your mental health and a large part of your life.

Not saying I once hid behind a curtain in the press box in Boston because I could barely handle the outcome of a game.
