WWII NZ 📻 listeners responded massively to hearing the voices of loved ones fighting on the other side of the world, in an era before even international phone calls. (Ngā mihi to @AtakohuM for her awhi with this article for NZJPH)

“However cordial the initial business transaction here—the process by which Prince allowed her to record and release his song—forget all that. This is a hostile takeover. Sinéad embodies this song on a molecular level. She changes the fundamental meaning of this song.”.

If you remember the impact of Sinéad O’Connor and that 1990 video for ‘Nothing compares 2u’, this podcast is fascinating listening. RIP

The Irish singer-songwriter died Wednesday at age 56. She leaves a vast legacy that includes being perhaps the only person to do a Prince song better than Prince.

Some vintage radio for #ANZAC day. Listen to the incredible stories of the NZers in the Long Range Desert Group, who fought the Sahara Desert, as much as the enemy.

Congratulations Victoria - it sums up the immense value of Online Cenotaph. In my research, I wouldn’t be able to put names to the voices of those who served without Cenotaph, so invaluable!.

I used to say to my kids “By the time you’re in your 20s this city will be back.“ A generation of Chch kids deserve this after childhoods in broken neighbourhoods, building-site schools, a city with no CBD, swimming pools, Library

Christchurch is no longer just a place for "old white people", as demand to study in the city soars. However, some Wellington halls remain empty – despite a $1000 promotion.
