It’s been another very busy week! Between emergency responses and training @SarniaFire Firefighters and Pub Ed have visited two @YMCA_Canada summer camps, Aamjiwnaang’s End of Summer Fun Celebration and hosted multiple station tours.

It’s #MiracleTreatDay at @DairyQueen in Canada. For every Blizzard treat sold at participating DQ locations, on Miracle Treat Day, 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Help make Miracles happen for kids in need.

This morning @SarniaFire Engine 5 crew visited a local childcare centre. The children were taught important fire safety and watched firefighters demonstrate some of our firefighting and rescue equipment. Thank you for inviting us! .#community 🚒

In between emergency responses and daily training Sarnia Fire Rescue values all opportunities to interact with our amazing community and teach essential fire safety. Here are some pictures of our firefighters visiting some summer camps, local events and hosting station tours. 🚒

Sarnia Fire’s hazmat team, on-shift crews, and Linde Canada Inc. took part in a simulated Ammonia release. Despite extreme temperatures, crews once again donned Level A hazmat suits to quickly deal with the situation. #AlwaysTrainingAlwaysReady

Today, the flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast in memory of the late Robin “Rob” Gifford. Rob began his career at @SarniaFire as a Firefighter in 1987 and retired as a FPO in 2017. He passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 68. Rob "Giffy", you will be missed.
