Crews are completing shoreline assessments after each storm and removing debris when possible. One tar ball was found on Cedar Cove. A hull survey was conducted, and the results are still pending. This survey will inform of any major damage to the hull`s exterior.

T & T Salvage, the salvage contractors, are thoroughly assessing areas onboard the vessel. Damaged on-board equipment will be replaced as needed. Once the assessment is complete, the salvage company and MSC will evaluate requirements and determine next steps.

UPDATE – November 12 A crew boarded the vessel after the recent wind storm to assess its condition. Structural damage was visible in multiple areas, including below deck, in the framing and bulk heads, in the area of a water ballast tank.

Our Arctic Marine Response Station in Rankin Inlet is now closed. During the season, the crew: 🔎 Responded to 7 #SearchAndRescue cases 🚢 Held 6 training exercises 🌊 Travelled over 2,000 nautical miles performing operational duties.

The salvage crew is reporting some damage to equipment onboard the MSC Baltic III and some debris from the grounded vessel is seen in the water and on the shoreline.

There is significant movement in the bow and stern of the MSC Baltic III. There is a noticeable change in the condition of the port side of the vessel, but a detailed assessment has not yet been conducted due to ongoing severe weather conditions.
