In many cases high quality rehab can be the difference between someone returning to the workforce + actively participating in their community vs. being dependent at home / in care facility. We need to zoom out and look at the bigger picture as is done in this report!.

5/ But not just stroke requires further HSCP investment… The National Stroke Audit captures about 50% of the responsibilities of our stroke physiotherapy team. Don’t forget the stroke mimics, FND, vestibular, outliers, support to other services etc.

3/ For patients with more severe/complex disability, we know from local audit that the amount of therapy they receive is often much less than this national average…. Complex stroke rehab requires greater no. of therapists to treat (+more time +/- a full fat coke on occasion😂)

The Pay and Numbers strategy is failing patients and physiotherapists alike. We are calling for it to be stopped. We fully support Physiotherapists taking industrial action to fight for safe staffing and proper resourcing. Enough is enough – the health of patients and.
