Home Songs is now available. Many thanks to @wipfandstock for publishing, and to those who have read and supported my work along the way. My hope with this chapbook is to explore the beauty and spiritual significance of "home" as a concept and place.

Really appreciate Catherine's comments here. It seems that the importance of mom's presence in the little years used to be more widely accepted, but certainly so in conservative circles. Now, a mom who's literally only around for her little ones on the weekend is praised in @WSJ.

At lot of thoughtful commentary in this @WSJ piece about "the conservative women who are having it all.". Especially liked this from @megynkelly which echoes so much of what I reported in my book: “Whereas in the conservative world, especially among people of faith, you hear all.

I think this is a common grace that God has given us. Even if their most deeply held beliefs fundamentally contradict the goodness and given-ness of new life, many (not all) people rejoice at the wonder of a little child.

Even if folks believe that unborn babies aren't persons, think that having babies in your early 20s (like we did) is foolish, don't want kids, can't have kids, have been sterilized because they're "done", or already have a lot of their own kids, they like to see and hold babies!.

One thing I've noticed since my daughter was born is that, at least in the abstract, most people like babies, regardless of their religious beliefs or backgrounds or personal decisions. Babies bring joy wherever they go.

I've never written about the eating disorder I suffered from in my teenage years, so my latest from @Plough - a piece reflecting on the goodness and given-ness of food in God's created order - was a somewhat difficult piece for me to write. Read below if interested.
