After careful consideration, the City of Glendale has decided to end its agreement with U.S. Homeland Security/ICE to house federal immigration detainees. This local decision reflects our core values: public safety, transparency, and community trust.

Today in every state across our nation, Americans are standing up to the administration as they implement Project 2025 at full speed. Thank you for using your voices and the power of protest to stand for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; for the Department of Education

Slowly getting better with collage. Made this creature out of geometric shapes and lots of glue :)

Playing around with the procreate brushes some more. Tried to be a little more lose than I usually do.

Oh gosh I did it! I'd been wanting to paint digitally for some time but couldn't figure it out. I bought a procreate class on domestika and the first exercise after the tutorial was to do an apple. So excited!

This sounds so incredibly boring to me to be honest and I’m not a murder hobo D&D player. It’s again a long discussion that doesn’t actually interact with the point being argued with and universalizes the pov of the person making the argument.
To contrast, let's look at The Veteran playbook from @jdragsky's Wanderhome. The Veteran has an ability that says "you can draw your sword and kill the person in front of you. If you do this, you cannot play this character anymore."

Art journal page I did for my class. Image on left is from Publisher’s Choice Stock Art. The Medusa Head by Godfried Maes. Map collage by Dyson Logos. The stock art is based on Owen Stephens. He is facing cancer and could use our help. More info: https://t.co/fuBZjxNA1O

In D&D land, I’m a backer of Surviving Strangehollow. I love the artwork and can’t wait to see how it develops. That reminds me, I need to ask if they are ok with fan art. https://t.co/Rnjo47diY6

Two non-D&D games I desperately want to try in part because the mechanics sound amazing are Brindlewood Bay and Shadow of the Weird Wizard. The first has mechanics for how to run mysteries that I’m intrigued by and the second’s health system fires my brain up.

And by the way, that is largely what Brennan is talking about in the quote cited here:

Does that mean I’m saying don’t play other games? Absolutely not. What I am saying is D&D is an excellent system if you want to be a game designer but don’t want to have to design everything.

I played a game once where I liked part of a system. But it wanted me to use jargon for weapons and say catch phrases in order to recharge one of the mechanics. That’s going to be amazing for some players but is murder on my desire to play because my brain doesn’t work that way.

In order to know if one system does things better than another, whether it’s tech or gaming or home organization, one needs to understand what problem is being solved.

Not entirely sure where I’m going to go with it. It’s totally just an experiment because I was curious. Throwing a bunch of things I haven’t played with a ton including plaster fabric, glass beads gel, and copper cinder gel. Need to see what I have when it all dries. :)

Most recent art journal class lesson asked us to use a book for inspiration so I used L2: Assassin’s Knot by Len Lakofka.
