UN experts sounded the alarm over a wave of armed attacks on Syrian Druze communities in Suweida since 13 July, with reports of killings, enforced disappearances, abductions, looting, property destruction, and sexual violence against women and girls.

Practice what u’r preaching here & learn to differentiate btw traumatized/idiotic calls frm Druze barely waking frm a massacre blessed by the interim gov u blindly support, &revolutionary druze who eventually overthrew assad. Stop generalizing & being sectarian. Not a good look.
Once the Lebanese Christians start learning to differentiate between the kleptocratic Assad regime who occupied them and the Syrian people who eventually overthrew it, they will know peace with us.

This is the type of BS “ME experts” share: “While the gov send in aid truck” lol more like while the government sieges Sweida & thanks the attackers for killing thousands of people & displacing +30 villages, it sends breadcrumbs. 🤦🏻♀️
While the Syrian government sends in 11 more trucks of humanitarian aid into Sweida today, individuals in Sweida and Shahba hold a demonstration calling for independence from Syria, describing the government as IS, the governor as a spy, while holding the Israeli flag.

Anas Al Sharif was born in 1996. He was 4 when the Second Intifada began in 2000. He was 11 when Israel imposed the blockade on Gaza in 2007. He was 12 during Cast Lead in 2008–2009. He was 18 during the 2014 assault on Gaza. He was 29 when Israel assassinated him in 2025.

Al-Sharaa’s $14B in MOUs are non-binding, long-term proposals with no timelines, because no actual deals have been signed. Forget how this is being sold: MOUs are not “signed deals.” And to top it off, the two companies shown in the images are shell entities (basically fake).

If you look at the interim gov, you’d think there are no women in Syria.
The inclusion of more women in Syria’s governance and leadership, must go beyond tokenism or meeting quotas. Their presence will bring balance and restraint, create spaces that are calmer, more thoughtful, and less driven by ego or impulse. It's an advantage not a burden.

It's unfortunate that this moment is being cast as a victory for Syrians. Russia, like Iran, orchestrated a war against Syrians, obliterated our cities and murdered our children. Anything short of an official apology and reparations, as a precondition to sit-down, is treason.

Every time I write “Druze,” “Bedouins,” “Muslims,” or any sect, I want to scream. I never defined myself by the one I was born into. I believed in “the Syrian people are one.” Having to explain this now—because of sectarian violence—is painful and absurd. And I hate it.

A crime is a crime—no matter the victim’s sect, no matter the perpetrator. This was the principle of the Syrian revolution: to stand against injustice, whoever commits it. Today, in Syria, everyone is or has been a victim. The bloodshed must end. I don’t know how or when.

Beware of those linked to the interim gov’t who only post about rights violations by Druze in Sweida. That’s called propaganda. If you care about human rights, mention the “individual incidents” by your own troops and the tribal militias you let march for miles.
