This has come to my attention and I implore as many of you as possible to sign the petition! The Sea Life London Aquarium has a colony of 15 Gentoo penguins in a basement. Many have been there their entire lives and, without your help to get them released, they may never see

Campaigners are demanding that an aquarium moves its penguins into a more suitable habitat.

I’ve said this before and I will say it again: the case against Jawar & the 24 others is political to the core. The gov’t is using the legal process to pursue opponents. It is a McCarthist witch hunt designed to eliminate vocal adversaries of the regime.

... on Tigray. Marauding Eritrean soldiers and Amahara militias are committing atrocities on the defenceless population. The morally bankrupt MEGA psychophants don’t see Tigrayans as deserving of our empathy and solidarity.

The gravest danger to Ethiopian unity or sovereignty has always been the assimilationist & anti-diversity ‘unity camp’, not ethnic federalism. It is the psychophantic MEGA extremists obsessed with one-ness & uniformity. Multinational federalism helped hold this empire together
4. TPLF champions ethnic federalism. To crush it is compulsory to save Ethiopia’s sovereignty. So to criticize the war is “anti-patriotic”, a slur on this sacred duty. In this regard, Eritrea’s massacres & looting in Tigray are an inevitable & temporary blessing in disguise.

The world is asking the Ethiopian gov't to allow humanitarian access to 4.5 m of its people (by the gov's own count) in Tigray who a potential famine is staring in the eye. I believe equally impo't is persuading Eritrean gov't whose forces have occupied Tigray to allow that.

Not sure PM Abiy is good at reading the international mood, but the killing of ex-ForMin Seyoum Mesfin has rattled many, left even his most die-hard supporters speechless.

The pro-Trump mob that stormed the Capitol was almost entirely white. @MsPackyetti explains how she thinks law enforcement would have reacted if the protesters were people of color. Learn more: https://t.co/j4mzmR1dKk

Ethiopia rejected calls for national dialogue 4 months. Since war began on 4 Nov, the govt ungraciously rebuffed mediation efforts by several states & actors, including @CyrilRamaphosa. Time for UNSC to urge parties to end war & seek peaceful solutions @SAMissionNY @UKUN_NewYork

Reports of injured troops being treated in hospital in Eritrea as a result of fighting across the border with Ethiopia. The conflict has spread and unlike the 98-2000 border war which saw Ethiopia fighting Eritrea, this conflict is Ethiopia's government with Eritrea against TPLF

It's beyond comprehension when a government attacks It's own military instalation to pave way for an advancing foreign force which is invading his country.

Journalists blocked from travelling to a different part of the country, their phones & laptops confiscated & their social media accounts scrutinized? Isn't that the definition of a police state? And since when did reporting something 'illegal' is illegal? https://t.co/c3enAHVdEP

The sad tragedy about Ethiopia, a multi-ethnic empire held together by force, is that most people don't understand the violence and dehumanization at the root of the founding of our country, and the trans-generational effects of all that. No one talks about the submerged crisis
