In a happy coincidence, an article I wrote from a chapter of the thesis was published last week on Culture and Religion. It explores the scriptural concept of strīdharma (women's moral-religious duties) as the basis of caste mobilisation among Brahmins. https://t.co/yzzFOVbiFI

Parents took the caste survey in Bangalore but the people taking it insisted on noting my mom’s caste as the same as dads (it’s not) So not sure how reliable the data that comes from this on inter caste marriages will be.

Yes. Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking. Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.

One doesn't expect nuanced takes on politics& security from the hypernationalist circles in Ind&Pak. But the past week has revealed something more surprising. It’s the glaring gap in how some otherwise critical scholars (non-South Asianists) approach Ind–Pak relations 1/16🧵

I am excited to have submitted my PhD thesis! My thesis of 80,000+ words explores the 'Brahmin' as a gendered category. That this intersectional and critical exploration of caste and gender was submitted on Ambedkar Jayanti (14 April) holds much value for me.

My beloved professor went missing and us five of his most devoted students set out trying to find him for the last two hours with help of police. I and another student found him waiting at the bottom of the history building finally and he just said "why did everyone skip class?"
