It's #WorldMentalHealthDay, and we want to help people to talk about suicide. By talking openly about suicide as well as mental health, we can save lives. We can help people to feel less alone, more understood, and more able to reach out for help.

I shared how using sport as part of the suicide prevention strategy in North Lanarkshire helped save lives. Community action works, but mental health support must be also properly funded. I was happy to wear the @samaritans tartan tie to raise awareness on suicide prevention.

Samaritans in Shetland marked a special date this weekend with 40 years of the Listening Service. We loved this image of Lerwick Town Hall flying the flag for Samaritans, looking out towards the harbour πŸ’š
