This is my favorite account on any platform. Capt. Chris Hill is an amazing leader. And he’s giving us a ringside seat as he relentlessly pursues culture change in one of the toughest, highest-stakes environments imaginable. #warriorsoldier.
Leaders need to be into the morale building business. It’s not as much about time off and cookies, although they’re super helpful. It’s about making people feel valued & part of something greater than themselves. Leaders literally control this power. And it produces results.

In the late seconds of Game 7 of the '57 NBA Finals, Bill Russell made the single greatest defensive play in league history, if not sports history. It's known as the Coleman Play. Sadly, the footage was taped over. But here's a video of a similar play:

In 1975, Bill Russell declined to attend his own Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The mystery of WHY would linger for the next 41 years. I wrote about the answer in "The Captain Class" (see below). This is one of the greatest leadership lessons I have ever encountered.
