As an overall NFL fan, tonight’s game was as exciting as it gets. It was also a total heartbreak for Chicago. Yet they should be proud of themselves. They fought hard, as many of us do, and things are yet to come. They sort of had the special sauce, and it’s tough to see them

This is one of the craziest NFL playoffs, ever, as a whole. I cannot believe we’re going into overtime again. Go Bears! (even though it pains me to say that as a Vikings fan. I hope it’s their time.)

We had a very interesting layer of freezing fog for a period of time this evening in Westport CT. Temperature was approximately 28° and it was foggy. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced that, and it left a layer of ice. I feel like that will be a factor for road

I’m still bothered by the fact that there was a typo in that writeup, although it’s not lost on me that the official definition of severe hail has become 1 inch in diameter (back in those days it was 3/4 of an inch).

Some badass scholarly stuff, which to be (un)fair to myself I had mostly forgotten about. I spent a full year as a teenager interviewing emergency managers in my county, evaluating and analyzing the preparedness of each individual town/community. I hope my poster turns up.

This bad boy from 1941, which still has my bookmark in it from who knows how long ago. (Apparently I only made it halfway thru)

This super neat medal, inside a box that appears to have been written on by some type of scholar.

So so so much cool stuff has been unearthed as I go thru my childhood bedroom/closet. First up: These three retro copies of Weatherwise (best magazine ever). More to share over the coming days, in no particular order:
