On the anniversary of Rudd's apology, our piece in The Conversation draws on findings from our systematic review. Removing babies is still harming First Nations families, almost two decades after the apology to Stolen Generations via @ConversationEDU.

Indigenous children are 11 times more likely to be removed than non-Indigenous children. Babies under one are at greatest risk.

Just published! This review highlights the limited data on the safety of alcohol pharmacotherapies in pregnancy. Balancing untreated AUDs against the medication-related risks is key to supporting the pregnant individual & developing child. @UWAresearch.

An important first step but First Nations babies & children continue to be removed from their families & placed in out of home care at disproportionate rates. Addressing root causes including #racism #poverty #homelessness is critical to break cycles of intergenerational trauma.
