TN doesn't have Godavari and Krishna so mega projects are out of the question. What's worrying is the government is still promoting rice in the delta and not taking steps to de-silt the existing dams and lakes. Rivers converted as drainage pathways are the next big worry 😞
As a geographer I strictly donot support lift irrigation projects, but As a electrical engineer, surprised 😲seeing all the massive projects in Telangana, they are largest in human history. That too in India where 100cr irrigation project take 10+yrs with clearance, case.etc. 1/2

You don't need Godavari and Krishna rivers. This Kaleswaram project is just waste of tax payers money. With 1/10th of money spend on Kaleswaram, they can easily achieve the same result with rain water harvesting and managing smaller to medium water bodies locally.

Yes our rivers should be protected.First our people should stop using rivers as free dustbins. Then govt. should construct more sewage treatment plants and release only treated water into the rivers.Thirdly strict action should be taken against industries that dump effluents

River thenpennai river can be linked with river cauvery by linking river Thoppaiyaru. Thenpennai river often floods than river Cauvery.
