Stuff like this is why I don't get why people are disappointed with Sunbreak Velkhana.
She has most most of her AT changes, flat out new moves unique to Sunbreak, uses ice more, is faster, and her ice ledges are less abusable.
I really like this attack they gave to Velkhana in Sunbreak.

They made it the SWITCH Axe. Instead of minmaxing sword mode uptime and only being in axe mode when out of energy for sword your main combos actually involve switching back and forth.
It's so much fun
Going back to Iceborne has reminded me how much better Rise made the Switch Axe. Maybe it’s subjective, but my gosh, it’s so much more fluid in Rise.
I can’t speak for Sunbreak’s counter though. You’ll either love it or hate it. I love it personally.

Gameplay? Doesn't matter if it's a World-like, Rise-like, whatever.

He made Gen (the most rawly fun MH game don't @ me), the adored Freedom Unite (Narga made top 10 monsters), Rise which I still think was the superior 5th gen game, and we just gonna forget P3rd was the best selling game until World and was a fucking Japan exclusive with no G rank
All he did was make great games, Many Fun and Unique monsters (including the most popular one) and love the franchise and some of ya'll treat him like he's sin incarnate. over hated

It attracted a lot of new passionate MH fans, AND it attracted a lot of ignorant fools who only care about World itself and nothing that isn't like it.
I know, it’s really annoying if people only talk about World & act like it’s the single most perfect enlightenment of the franchise, but it’s REALLY unfair to blame World for it. Yeah, it’s the most popular game, but it’s not its fault that people act like ignorant idiots. 1/3

Maybe cause they made the fight an actual fight. A dance. And better balanced his fight around actual attacks rather than flying for unreasonable amount of time, bunkering inside a tornado unable to he attacked, or his main defense being fuck you to can't hit me fall over

If anything is kept from Sunbreak to all the other games after, for the love of God let it be how good element is. All the powerful skills, no real element cap (at least realistically), and the fact it's good even on most raw focused weapons.

I think Sunbreak Switch Axe is the most fun it's ever been.
Before Rise Axe mode sucked at damage and only existed until your Guage refilled.
Then you hang out in sword cause that's where all your damage is but you have no mobility. Just stand and swing
4. Weapons should have significant flaws and downsides to them. I didn't play Switch axe in Rise cause it took away all of those from the weapon

It's not even my favorite Monster Hunter game but I will always come back to it either to help others and to finish things off which I have still yet to do. This game has more content than any other MH game (padding or not). And more MH is always a good thing
