🇨🇦 Big win for consumers in Canada and CCC! PM Mark Carney and Premier Doug Ford announced support to help municipalities cut development charges by up to 50% — a major step toward housing affordability. Exactly what @DavidClement and @SabineBenoit_ argued for in @TheHubCanada:

So @davidclement and I have been advocating for the elimination of development charges for a very long time. This is good news, and might actually help with the housing crisis. If you want to know more about what they are and how this helps, read this:

Good question by my friend @KeszZoltan. Orbanism is not something to normalize especially by free market adjacent people.
CPAC Hungary is happening today with @JMilei supporting the most corrupt pro-Russian politician in Hungary. With all due respect, I must ask why... This is what I wrote 2 months ago in this topic. Still timely. https://t.co/K10oC9XFEd

"it’s time to stop stigmatizing the idea of private delivery of some healthcare services. Instead of pointing to failures like the United States, it’s time to point to successes like the Netherlands." A good reminder from my colleague @JayJGoldberg

This is a positive step, but if we want to help dig out of the crisis, we should allow there to be no GST for all first time home owners at least for a short while. Prices are relative based on where you want to live. Also, a reduction just is not enough when you are IN A CRISIS!
We’re saving Canadians up to $50,000 on your first home. Last week, Bill C-4 became law — officially eliminating the GST for first-time home buyers on new homes up to $1 million, and reducing it on new homes between $1 million and $1.5 million.

Seeing this alongside so many other issues with the national broadcaster and still thinking Canadians should fund them while dealing with an economic crisis is just really something.
