There’s a lot of hot air around this election but only four candidates with a real plan - Barry, Dan, Ellis, and Natalya. For a safe, inclusive, and sustainable Santa Monica, vote for Barry, Dan, Ellis, Natalya, and YES on Measure K.

How will they fund them? Where will the money come from? The “Safer Santa Monica Slate” hasn’t said. Meanwhile, the only item on the ballot which would ACTUALLY fund public safety was introduced by @jessezwick. Jesse has endorsed Dan, Natalya, Barry, and Ellis.

.@SantaMonicaPD Violent and property crimes are up, yet our police force hasn't grown to match the need. The Safer Santa Monica Slate will FUND our police and firefighters, ensuring they have what they need to protect our communities and small businesses.

This group is endorsing the incumbent Mayor and the coalition currently in charge of Santa Monica politics and thinks they’ll be able to make change. It’s nonsense. If you want change, vote Dan, Natalya, Barry, and Ellis.

.@DTSantaMonica Santa Monica has spent hundreds of millions to address homelessness, yet it's still a crisis. The Safer Santa Monica Slate will take action—removing encampments, banning outdoor sleeping, and giving first responders the tools they need. It’s time for real.

Phil Brock is the Mayor of Santa Monica. He IS the establishment. If you think crime is a problem and City Hall is ignoring you, it doesn’t make much sense to vote for Phil Brock again.

The current Establishment is failing us. Crime rates are up, and they continue to ignore the problem. Santa Monica deserves leaders who listen and ACT. The Safer Santa Monica Slate will bring a better future for our city. @santamonicacity.

Rents are lower and homes are more affordable when we build more homes. That’s why President Biden and Vice President Harris have put housing at the center of their economic agenda.

In Santa Monica, preservations are trying to add our Civic Auditorium to the national register. It’s an abandoned performing arts venue that is seismically unsafe. The application argues that it should be preserved in part because it was instrumental in urban renewal 😬

Hold up - Santa Monica’s MAYOR says his own city is unsafe? He should do something about it then! . Clearly, “the buck stops here” doesn’t apply in Santa Monica right now.

Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock says, "Santa Monica is not safe."  Santa Monica's immediate past Mayor  and current Councilmember Gleam Davis says she "wants a safe and clean Santa Monica, but just doesn't want to see Police."

The Coastal Commision makes it quite difficult to build new housing along the coast in Santa Monica and often works against local goals such as making our Downtown less auto-centric and more pedestrian friendly. We agree that serious reform is needed. @BenAllenCA @RickChavezZbur.

“But amid the state’s housing crisis, some legislators and housing advocates are increasingly fed up with this status quo, arguing that the 12-member commission’s powers have expanded too far.”

A lot of public support persists as well. And once the project is done - and 1,000+ new residents join our community - there will be even more people who will be glad these homes were built.

We wish @santamonicacity took these bike lane violations more seriously. We spend millions of dollars of new bike infrastructure but then don't bother to ensure that cyclists can reliably use it.

SB423 is an extension of SB35 - arguably the most important affordable housing legislation ever passed by the state. Since 2017, SB35 has enabled more than 11,000 below market rate homes. A fantastic achievement!.

SB423 is simple - cities that don’t meet their RHNA goals must streamline projects that comply with local zoning. Santa Monica is on pace to meet our goals but other cities are not. Shouldn’t we support legislation that makes sure other cities are also doing their fair share?.

A bit late to the game, @PhilBrock4SM! SB423 has been approved in the Senate on a 29-5 vote, in the Assembly on a 61-8 vote, and will soon be on Newsom’s desk for signature. Why oppose a bill with such overwhelmingly support from the legislature and labor unions?
