Happy 66th birthday to the legendary Marcus Miller! Throughout his career, he has collaborated with legends such as Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Luther Vandross, Wayne Shorter, and David Sanborn…

@SVG__Collection I met Marcus Miller on June 9th 1982 at the 55 Grand St. bar, he had a trio with Kenny Kirkland on piano and Poogie Bell on drums. It was my birthday, he played all standard Jazz tunes and sang one funk song that he wrote. The man is a natural talent.

@SVG__Collection Played a few Marcus Miller riffs on the bass yesterday to honor him on his B-Day.

@SVG__Collection Qué honor celebrar a Marcus Miller: artesano del groove y verdadero puente entre sonidos de leyenda. Cada línea suya es una página viva en la historia del jazz.

@SVG__Collection His part on Luther’s “Never Too Much” was one of the first I studied while learning slap. The fills on that song alone are a masterclass.

@SVG__Collection As phenomenal a bass player as you will ever see and hear! 50 years of thumping that axe.

@SVG__Collection I've seen Marcus Miller and David Sanborn on stage. They were amazing. I can't see them now, but I'd like to experience that live performance again.
