@Esteem3Project @LPS_Orsay @crns @UnivParisSaclay @CICbiomaGUNE @ICFOnians @NIMS_PR EELS experiments were done on the Chromatem (@ANR), a modified Nion machine. Nanowire cutting was performed on a JEOL 2010 (@JEOLEUROPE). Data was acquired and analyzed with NionSwift (@NionSwiftChrisM), Hyperspy ( and Python.

Our article on phonon-plasmon interaction probed by electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) is out on @NanoLetter. We observed nanoscale plasmon-enhanced EELS of phonons -a fast electron equivalent to SERS- and a local phonon and plasmon strong coupling

Marcel explained to us the physics behind different electron detectors in the our journal club. He also announced a change in his scan library name, as we don't do only STEM EELS anymore! It starts on version 1.17, to make OSS 117. Merci @laura_bocher for the pic.

Noémie Bonnet presented her work on NV0/NV- centers in diamond using PL and CL inside a STEM in the @STEM_LPS group meeting at the @LPS_Orsay . She showed us some real color CL emission (greenish light on the mirror) and how to place the sample at the correct height ;)
