Why indeed
why would a constituency office staffer for Nathan Neudorf be giving out materials regarding the MLA's recall? the campaigner "replied that he'd got them from Nathan Neudorf's own office staff." https://t.co/AOvsOU4H3J

Like the dynaLIFE deal cost us an extra $100 million? Or how Smith had Health fork over $70 million for off brand fever meds at 3x the price to her new buddy? Or how she had Health extend contracts for double AHS rates? Just thieves buying favours with the public purse. #ableg

Amna knows what it takes to beat Conservative’s and to win in tough places. She’s shown that people-powered campaigns work by lifting up hope, community, and prioritizing the values of taking care for our neighbours. I’m proud and excited to have her support.

Folks should probably check in on their local CPC MPs, they are really crashing out over there. #cdnpoli
So this happened. I was Michael Ma’s Secret Santa. 🎅 I gave him an Amazon Fire Stick just hours before he crossed the floor. 🎄 Now I want my gift back, just like the people of Markham—Unionville want their votes back! 🗳️

Glad to contribute to this outstanding 'About That' explainer from Andrew Chang for @CBCNews, on how Canada's big banks make so much money: https://t.co/bOCH7UcPnE. A widening net interest gap, combined with cream from the AI stock bubble, drove record profits in '25. #cdnecon /2

The sale of Canadian-made armoured vehicles to ICE is unacceptable. I’ve urged the government to shut down these export loopholes — and I welcome Lloyd Axworthy’s call echoing this demand. Canada’s foreign policy must reflect our human rights commitments. https://t.co/sTzjQvVMGw

But there is a rule stating that one recall petition is approved against an MLA and it fails, nobody can try again to recall that member until after the next election. So a do-nothing recall campaign can serve as catch-and-kills for an MLA's supporter.
Just as there is no rule saying a dog can't play basketball, there's no Alberta law saying the Lethbridge-East recall petition leader actually has to recruit canvassers or collect signatures.

The UCP want to get rid of Alberta's current Auditor General. They've rejected his offer to stay another 2 years and have undermined his work at a committee of the Legislature. There will be some bombshells in the 8 reports the AG will report this week. Bet on it. #ableg
We're scheduled to release eight Reports of the Auditor General on Thursday afternoon, December 11. Visit https://t.co/HvI0BlYgv0 to learn more and sign up to be notified when the report is available. #ableg

Case Fatalities and extremely severe outcomes (encephalitis) are highest among infants <6 months. So when Alberta makes public health decisions like this, the population most likely to suffer is babies.
New from the Globe and Mail this morning Alberta Government purposely withheld information on the growing measles outbreak in the province despite the experts telling them to release this information to the public The question we all need an answer to here is, why? Link below

a woman was sexually assaulted and then the EPS officer investigating that crime hit on her over text. this officer, who has a checkered discipline history which includes assaulting a guy for speaking french and sleeping with a recruit while on duty, faced no real consequences.
1. This a perverse decision by Edmonton Police Service. She made a Police Act complaint of serious misconduct to the Chief. It was diverted by wrongly using s. 6 Police Service Regulation which applies where a supervisor decides counselling by them ... https://t.co/T3BpSClXcB

The PM should be meeting with the Coastal First Nations himself. And the Premier of BC himself. Not sending his Energy Minister. Statecraft is about a lot more than int’l trips. What message does it send that his only meeting is with Smith? Want it done? Do it right.

Probably best to dial down the condescension and sanctimony when talking to indigenous Canadians. It’s not a boardroom, it’s politics. Businessmen often think they’re good at politics but often they’re the worst at it. Politics is about people and process.
My comments last night about a virtual meeting with Coastal First Nations were a poor choice of words, which I regret. I have reached out to them directly to apologize and look forward to an in-person meeting at their convenience. // Les commentaires que j'ai faits hier soir au

Whoa. It’s called “zoom” - quite a way to respond to the Coastal First Nations request for a meeting especially when he refused to meet them before the MOU that directly affects them was announced - while doing over 50 meetings with fossil fuel lobbyists.
HODGSON: It's called Zoom. I think that's what we're using. COCHRANE: I understand. But I'm also not a Coastal First Nation Chief.

It's amusing to look back at how some columnists who are today critiquing Mark Carney on agreements with the provinces on pipes previously wrote about Christy Clark's five conditions and the work by Premier Redford and PM Harper to get BC onside.

Christy Clark had 5 conditions for a pipeline to the northwest coast of BC, and her position was that Northern Gateway did not fulfill any of them. And that was an actual real project!
Is Dave Eby on Team Canada? Former B.C. premier Christy Clark criticized his pipeline stance, arguing he's standing in the way of what's best for Canada in the form of Mark Carney and Danielle Smith's energy plan. Thoughts?

Nothing in MOU or Alberta/Ottawa materials appears to require BC's consent to proceed with an oil pipeline — despite what @MarkJCarney said in House of Commons earlier this week.
The MOU @MarkJCarney @ABDanielleSmith just signed = big win for Alberta, and a straight-arm to face of BCgov. Declares oil pipeline in national interest. BC only gets commitment to consultation, plus "share substantial economic and financial benefits of the proposed pipelines."

It’s an interesting approach to provide clarity on a tanker ban while failing to meet with the Coastal First Nations despite repeated requests - the community that would be directly affected by any spill - while having dozens or more meetings with fossil fuel lobbyists, AB, Sask.
Hodgson says Ottawa is close to providing clarity on B.C. tanker ban https://t.co/wKZRzSPdNN

Just incredibly disrespectful of @MarkJCarney. Governing Canada is difficult and it’s always good to have allies. He had one in Eby, he’ll never have a real one in Smith. Torching your friendships, allies, and members of your own caucus is not how you succeed in politics.
3.5 hours - that's how long it took @Dave_Eby to realize he'd been misled by @MarkJCarney on the status of a pipeline agreement between Ottawa and Alberta on Monday. My latest in @BIVnews: https://t.co/XNk5gndzG1
