That’s my 3rd and final year clinical placement done. I was honoured to work with an amazing placement educator in the criminal justice system and I learned so much. I was also very lucky to receive such thoughtful gifts from her. Next stop, find a job!

An incredibly validating day spent at @RCSLT with discussions surrounding equality, diversity and inclusion. It was a privilege to be a part of the day and I felt that my opinions and contributions were valued just as much as someone who’s been in practice for many years.

I was lucky enough to experience a thoroughly ND affirmative lecture by @evaldezOT and her colleague Tanya yesterday. It gives me hope that the tide is turning and that there’s other people out there advocating for ND individuals 🤘🏻.

Why is it that people have to fight for a disabled child’s autonomy over their own body just because they can’t verbalise the word ‘no’. This makes my heart hurt, but I will keep up raising the awareness of such awful things and fight for rights for people who are ignored.

This makes me want to move back to Scotland. At the weekend I was working w/a 6yr old. I was instructed to use hand over hand so they could match a picture. I said “no, they don’t like it when people do that” I was told it didn’t matter and I had to do it anyway (I didn’t)…(1/2).

Final module grade received today from @MedwaySLT +if my calculations are correct, my average for year 1 is 79%! I’m absolutely blown away. Never thought this would ever be possible and that I’d find something I’m good at. Onwards and upwards to year 2! #studentslt #slt2b.
