St Ives lifeboat honoured the passing of our recently retired  Chair of Fundraising Joan Tanner of 32 years service to the RNLI. The crew stood in honour as Joan made her final journey along the harbour. #RNLI

Both lifeboats out on service this morning at 6.53am Top Cove, Godrevy to a capsized kayaker. Thankfully the casualty had safely made his way to shore with help of a surfer. The crew assessed the casualty who was in shock but ok. #RNLI #stivescornwall #savinglivesatsea

#StormEvert due to hit Cornwall later @MetOffice has issued an amber warning. Gusts hit out of nowhere & knock you off your feet, large waves can be amazing to watch & photograph, but no image is worth drowning. Call 999 ask for the Coastguard if you see anyone in trouble #RNLI

Can you spot a Rip, they are strong currents running out to sea, which can quickly drag people & debris away from the shallows of the shoreline & out to deeper water and & danger, the most experienced beachgoers can be caught out by rips, always choose a lifeguarded beach #RNLI

Our crew have just returned to station after responding to a call for two persons cut off by the tide in Black Cliff area. Our crew assisted a person with a disability & their carer into the inshore lifeboat and onto safety at North Quay. #RNLI #Cornwall

At 11.21am today both our inshore & all weather lifeboats launched on service at request of Falmouth Coastguard. We are unable to provide any further information of that service at this time. Both lifeboats returned from at 1.12pm #RNLI #savinglivestogether #stivescornwall

82 years today, St Ives RNLI remember the courage & sacrifice of the crew of 1939. Of the eight crew that launched the 'John and Sarah Eliza Stych' Lifeboat in storms in excess of 80-90 MPH to an unknown vessel, only one man returned home. Today we take time to remember #RNLI
