Susan Musinsky, our Executive Director, spotted the Hull Lifesaving Museum and went in and met DJ, a docent, for a chat and a view of the SIF Innovator plaque! The Hull Lifesaving Museum was one of our 2009 Social Innovators for their work with the Maritime Apprentice Program.

Today, we commemorate Black Women’s Equal Pay Day! This day sheds light on institutional racism and the fight towards realizing pay equity. At SIF, we acknowledge the lived experiences and injustices Black women face and work towards better supporting them in our community.

Today the International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition is commemorated. This day raises awareness about the horrific actions and behaviors during the slave trade, makes memory of those whose lives were lost, and celebrates people’s fight towards freedom.
