I don’t mean to kick a Sports PT hornet nest, but I genuinely can’t find enough good reasons to go through the SCS renewal process gauntlet. Likely letting it expire. Tons of time, work, and money, for what? I’d rather spend it all learning and working on new projects.

Last 6mo has been peak busy with courses, research, clinic etc so podcast has been paused. But I know many find it useful. I take notes constantly to organize my brain. Considering “brain dump” style podcast of current work, thoughts etc. What do you think? Yes? No? Meh

Massive moment for me. Insane to see our new NCAA gymnastics workload study published in Sports Health based on the system I build after attending @TimGabbett course 7 years ago. Would not be possible without @EllenCaseyMD & others 🙏 Full text! https://t.co/0X4RdnQsNZ

I think I’ve treated 1000 gymnasts for back pain & 80% of helping comes down to 1. Reduce skills that hurt (arching, landing, etc) 2. Improve hip/shoulder soft tissue flexibility 3. Weight train glutes, upper back, core 4. Avoid fast routine ramp 5. Change skills if needed

Old school: “Female gymnasts should peak at 16 because they likely have 1 shot at the Olympics.” New school: “Female gymnasts should pace at 16 because they may have 16 MORE years in elite and 4+ Olympics” Welcome to the future thanks to legends stomping out the myth 🙏

3 observations from the Olympics: 1. Female gymnasts can be 26, 28, 30+ years old & at the pinnacle of elite competition 2. Weight lifting (done correctly) is absolutely essential for performance & health of gymnasts 3. Fear based coaching is not required for success
