Today I reflect on 100 days in office as #Commonwealth Secretary-General. From hosting two ministerial meetings to strengthening partnerships, these first months have been focused on building a Secretariat that can better serve our 56 member countries.

A pleasure to meet with the Cyprus Minister of Shipping, @HadjimanoliM. We spoke about ways to advance our cooperation on the Apia Ocean Declaration & the operation of the #BlueCharter Centre of Excellence. I also congratulated #Cyprus on its upcoming @EUCouncil Presidency.

@RoyalFamily @commonwealthsec I am grateful for the support I have received since taking office. I look forward to working with our member countries, @CommonwealthSec staff & partners on delivering our mandate. Together, we are shaping a #StrongerCommonwealth and better futures for our 2.7 billion people.

My engagements with His Majesty King Charles III, Head of the Commonwealth, always remind me of the importance of commitment and service. His steadfast support for our family of nations continues to inspire me and guides our shared work.

A pleasure to meet H.E. Dr. Mohammad Faisal (@DrMFaisal), High Commissioner of #Pakistan. We discussed strengthening intra-Commonwealth trade, harnessing the potential of AI and deepening collaboration across the #Commonwealth, including on climate and youth.

A pleasure to welcome HE Pengiran Norazmi, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam. We exchanged views on our shared priorities including intra-Commonwealth trade, AI and sustainable development. And Brunei’s continued role in building a more connected Commonwealth.

I had a productive meeting with Prakash Hinduja of the Hinduja Group and Foundation. We explored areas of interest for a partnership in support of @CommonwealthSec, including my vision for a youth skills and entrepreneurship revolution across the #Commonwealth.

I was pleased to receive a group of Ghanaian parliamentarians visiting the UK for engagements with the @CPA_Secretariat – our partner for advancing the #Commonwealth’s core values of democracy, good governance & the democratic dividend. @Parliament_GH

Grateful for today’s warm and thoughtful exchange with Singapore’s High Commissioner, HE Mr Ng Teck Hean. We discussed shared priorities including trade, digital tech, small states and SIDS, and the multilateral strength and vision of our #Commonwealth family.

Privileged to join Sir Shridath Ramphal’s family & friends, including Sir Ronald Sanders, at the fifth Patsy Robertson Memorial Lecture. He was a giant of our Commonwealth, as well as a key global figure, whose legacy of hope, unity & principled leadership continues to guide us.

An honour to welcome former #Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku – the first African to lead our family of nations – to Marlborough House. Today, we gathered to celebrate the remarkable life & legacy of Sir Shridath ‘Sonny’ Ramphal, our second Secretary-General.
