Wild how folks get offended by honest, factual criticism when it’s not glowing. But have no problem yelling PROFANITIES at refs, TRASHING their own coach and their kid’s teammates DURING GAMES, in the cafeteria, and on the CAR ride home. You know who you are. Check yo self playa!.

Crazy how many players are still out there grinding in AAU right after Boys Cali Live and Section 7. Parents….rest your kids! Recovery matters just as much as exposure.
After Section 7 and BoysCaliLive 2026/27 should rest and hit the weight room. No need to chase more AAU in July/Aug. Take a mental and physical break. If you miss the game, play pick-up with friends at the park. That’s what outdoor courts are for fun, not pressure. Love the game.

A source to Wansa’s camp says the reason for his return to Cleveland is deeper than basketball. According to them, a parent at Alemany were “running the show” not the head coach and even housing other players just to play with their own kid.

Question for coaches now that Cali Live & Section 7 are done. Are you willing to sit your seniors if they’re more focused on chasing a D1 offer, locked in on stats and highlights?. Even if it means losing a few games and pissing off the parents you allowed into the program?.

Palisades is the clear favorite in the City Section, no debate there. But let’s be real, City’s been weak for a while. Cleveland’s overrated got blown out at Cali Live. They wont beat Taft or Birmingham. Palisades is the real deal. They could hang in the Southern Section.

1 day after Boys Cali Live and you already know what’s coming…. In 3…2…1…. Highlight tapes flooding the timeline. Gotta love glorified role players getting superstar edits off wide-open layups, uncontested 3s, and zero reads.
FYI:. Athletes worried that they won’t have a “mixtape” on social media and mad that they don’t have one…. 1) MOST mixtapes you see on the internet someone paid for not because they earned it. 2) Stop worrying about what others are doing, put your head down and get better.

Sat courtside with a D1 and high level D2 coach yesterday. They’ve been tracking a local valley kid and were ready to offer. After the game they told me straight up: “he shot his way out of it” Bad shot selection cost him. I saw it too. Just awful decisions. Let that sink in.

Day 3 at Boys Cali Live - College coaches aren’t just watching how many 3s you hit, they’re watching your decisions and shot selections. Yeah, you need to prove you can shoot it but how’s that shot selection? They’re watching everything. Play the right way!.

My gut feeling says Will Conroy Jr. won’t be at Village Christian for long….Wouldn’t be shocked to see him at Sierra Canyon sooner than later.

I really liked what I saw from Loyola against that depleted Mater Dei squad. They’ve got good size and play with discipline. They might just surprise everyone including me this year.

This transfer definitely raises eyebrows👀 back to the same school and coach right before Boys Cali Live? City Section usually takes a closer look than Southern Section, especially when the last stop, Alemany, is just down the road from Cleveland. This one will be interesting.
HOOPS: TJ Wansa (‘27) is back at Cleveland after a year at Alemany. Wansa played his freshman season with the Cavs. Wansa, Charlie Adams and Serigne Deme make up a very good core when it comes to the LA City Section. Will be an Open Division contender.

I’ve seen enough @CrespiHoops is winning the Mission League this year and will be a serious Open Division contender in CIF-SS. Credit to Head Coach Derek Fisher for getting those kids to fully buy in. Bookmark this!.

I decided not to post scores or player evaluations today at Boys Cali Live-just took the time to watch players compete. I noticed a lot on Day 1. Focused mainly on San Fernando Valley teams and players. Full analysis coming later this week. 👀.
