Wild how folks get offended by honest, factual criticism when it’s not glowing. But have no problem yelling PROFANITIES at refs, TRASHING their own coach and their kid’s teammates DURING GAMES, in the cafeteria, and on the CAR ride home. You know who you are. Check yo self playa!.

Flipside? You’re also risking your career riding the bench behind transfers at stacked programs just hoping for minutes. Sometimes it’s better to play somewhere and be seen than sit somewhere big and get forgotten.

This isn’t 2010. In today’s game, development off the court is just as critical. Players need visibility, mentorship, and someone who can advocate for them at the next level.

Spoke with a few players seriously considering transferring within the Mission League. Alemany came up. Their response?. “We’d go, they have talent there. But coaching staff is abysmal.”. They’re not risking their careers for a staff that doesn’t develop and doesn’t connect.

Underclassmen at a powerhouse like Sierra Canyon and ND, why stay year after year just to clap it up from the bench behind D1 JR/SR transfers? Plenty of Mission League teams could actually use your talent right now. But hey, if riding pine for the brand is the move, carry on.

I’m hearing CIF might be taking a closer look at Sierra Canyon basketball. 👀 hard to ignore the wave of transfers the past few months: Grant, Martinsen, McCoy, now Lowery. All of them were played major minutes at their previous schools but I’m sure it’s all just coincidence 🤣.

Clippers cheating the system. Reminds me of a few high school teams in the San Fernando Valley.

BREAKING: 2026 Brandon McCoy Jr. will be attending Sierra Canyon (CA) for the 2025-2026 high school season — leaving St. John Bosco (CA) where he averaged 16.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 3.8 SPG last season — Sierra Canyon may now have their best team on paper since the 2021-2022 season.

Facts. It’s a full blown arms race in the Mission. St. Francis joined the party with the biggest transfer of 2025. Loyola reloaded with 3 transfers deep. Meanwhile, Chaminade’s stuck in neutral, and Alemany’s losing players and coaches.

Like I said, Loyola isn’t messing around. They’ve started sacrificing student body participation for 3 new transfers, all for a shot at winning a few more games this season.

And with the reported Core Prep shut down, no more holdbacks rolling in yearly.

Heritage Christian basketball is officially on life support. With Dillan Shaw and Tae Simmons gone, Hackney out, and Loehle most likely heading to join his pops at Simi Valley. the program has no pulse left.

Joe Sterling is criminally underrated… just like when “college scouts” slept on Steph Curry. With mentors like David Rebibo and Clint Parks guiding him, don’t be surprised if his path leads straight to the NBA.

Honest take: I respect @toddmalecki he’s one of the best in the business. But the Top 40 was anything but. Too many picks were selfish, unproductive, and not recruitable. I had crossed out at least 15 kids after watching all their games, yet they still made it. What went wrong?.

Now that I think about it….Oak Park losing to HW in ‘05 makes perfect sense. You were the starting point guard 🤦‍♂️😂 @Its_Buckley.

I said it before and I’ll say it again .Mission League, Gold Coast, and Olympic League need to reshuffle teams. Campbell Hall and Brentwood → Mission League. St. Francis and Loyola → Gold Coast. Chaminade and Alemany → Olympic. This would create a more competitive balance.

This is definitely the year for Arcadia High School Hoops. I’m calling it now, they’ll win the CIF Division 2AA title and make a deep run in the State playoffs.

HOOPS: Arcadia coach Nick Wallace tells me 6-7 Ajani Balogun (‘28) from DNA Prep and 6-7 Mohamad Khayauri (‘27) from Muir have both checked into Arcadia.

Crazy how Bosco Tech Basketball went from one of the top programs in the San Gabriel Valley to bottom of the barrel in just three years. What happened to their supposedly large and loud fanbase?.

Who else think that these guys should be banned from the court by CIF and tournament organizers?. The kids play completely different when they’re around, chasing cameras instead of competing. It’s getting out of hand.

Videographers charging $300 for a 45-second highlight video per player is exactly what’s wrong with AAU basketball. There’s no real justification for it, just a straight-up money grab. And to pretend you’re “helping kids get recruited” is a flat-out lie. Nuff said.
