Congratulations to Derrick Lew, who was sworn in today by Mayor @DanielLurie as the next Chief of @SFPD. I’m confident that under Chief Lew’s leadership, we will continue working hand in hand to reduce crime and make San Francisco safer for everyone.

This morning’s update: About 20,000 customers remain without power, primarily in the Richmond and Presidio. I have been in touch with community leaders in those neighborhoods and we’re working to bring resources directly to those communities. We will continue to push PG&E for a

This afternoon I joined the Western Addition Senior Center to serve meals as we enter the holidays. Over 400 seniors came by today for Friday Fish Day, with over 200 coming every day to the center for hot meals. Thank you to Joe Tasby and the entire team at the Senior Center

SF Democrats, United Dem Club, and Westside Family Dem Club volunteered in the Sunset District to distribute food to residents. Self-Help for the Elderly administers this food distribution every other Wednesday and it's a great way to help out those facing food insecurity.

A rainy day made warmer at the Chi Sing Community Center. I joined volunteers from the SF Democratic Party this afternoon to support grocery distribution with Self-Help for the Elderly, whose staff and volunteers tirelessly serve thousands of meals and groceries to seniors.

SFDems, United Dem Club, and ENDC showed up on Saturday morning to help out with APACC's annual toy giveaway. SFDems Chair Nancy Tung and member Lily Ho were there to speak with parents and to spread some Christmas joy to Visitacion Valley families.

It’s heartbreaking and infuriating seeing the news of an anti-Semitic massacre in Australia on the first night of Hanukkah. Sending strength to my Jewish friends. In SF, @SFDemocrats will continue to stand against anti-Semitic speech that leads to anti-Semitic violence.

I was proud to join Mayor @DanielLurie as he signed the Family Zoning Plan. We took back the @SFDemocrats with a pro-housing majority and elected a pro-housing Board of Supervisors to help make this happen, but the work isn’t over.

Proud of the progress SF has made — crime rates are falling faster than in many other cities and we’re seeing historic lows thanks to strong partnerships across law enforcement. There is still much work ahead and our commitment to public safety continues.

Crime decreases this year have beaten even last year’s historic lows in San Francisco. This data shows how much it’s fallen — and where it hasn’t.

A few weeks ago, Westside Family Dem Club organized an event for parents to meet with SFUSD Superintendent Maria Su and Board President Phil Kim and ask their questions. Lots of hard questions were asked to help build a connection with parents and those in charge.

We had a productive walk with SFPD tonight in Lower Nob Hill to hear firsthand from neighbors and merchants about conditions in the neighborhood. We know the current street conditions aren't acceptable and we are unified in improving things block by block.
