"No publicly traded company would consider naming Trump to an executive position... None of his billionaire friends would trust him with their money." He couldn't work in a school or a lawfirm. And yet we might elect him president, @SykesCharlie writes:

Many people outside the media industry don’t understand why this is so earth-shattering. I get asked a lot by right wing audiences about ‘bias’. This is more than that: It is malpractice. Knowing something is wrong and yet knowingly spreading it.

Messages and depositions from stars like Tucker Carlson revealed serious misgivings about claims of fraud even as some hosts told millions of viewers a very different story.

This suit by #Dominion against #FoxNews seems likely to become a landmark in First Amendment history in that it will establish that freedom of speech is fully compatible with an abiding concern for truth and with targeted remedies against harmful lies https://t.co/JUKXfW75DM

I can't emphasize enough how much Secretary of State races matter. They don’t always get the most attention, but they’re crucial to ensuring we have fair elections—and this time, voters across the country chose candidates who will fight for democracy.

Let's keep up pressure to pass a voting rights law that makes it easy to vote, ends partisan gerrymandering, and stops the flood of dark money into elections. That, right there, would go a long way toward helping us keep our democracy.

I was asked this morning what worries me most post-election. My answer: Lots of things, but nothing concerns me more than complacency. Those who wish to bring down our electoral system are not about to give up so we cannot let our guard down

A great tragedy of this moment is that an overwhelming number of political reporters, editors, TV hosts and media executives have no clue what they are looking at when they see this. They don’t understand the country they live in and the people they report on,at all. Danger ahead

This, this, a million times this. If you suck, you suck, and the marketplace rejects you. That's how this works. To demand otherwise is to advocate for a participation trophy.

According to FBI crime estimates released today, "violent crime" decreased 1% in 2021 and "property crime" decreased 3.8%. Every media outlet should ask itself if this is the impression it gave with its volume of crime coverage and choices of anecdotes.

OPINION | If we don’t speak out, then we will be complicit in normalizing their antisemitic conspiracy theories, hate, threats, and “wanton” recklessness simply because they are conservative, white, and Republican.

Here is what election officials have consistently said: 1. Widespread fraud does not exist and the system we have built ensures that it can’t happen 2. We are not perpetrators of any fraud. We spend day and night preparing our systems to prevent it
