Europe’s heatwave is not showing signs of breaking. We can no longer debate whether or not to make drastic changes. Paris’ Place de Catalogne is a perfect example of how heat-generating asphalt road space can be replaced with an urban forest for water capture, shade and cooling.

High speed trains for Europe is a no brainer! We now just need political will and finance to make it a reality! @Earth4All_

Most EU citizens would prefer high-speed trains over planes for short to medium distances – if reliable rail options existed.

My new article in @HorizonMag : Rethinking green investment for Europe’s next chapter: a stakeholder’s vision "We need to think through where the priorities are and then properly communicate this to citizens".

As Europe faces growing security and trade challenges, the momentum behind sustainable policies, and especially green finance, has come under increasing pressure.

So appreciate that here in Europe we continue to honour #science alongside a #social and #green agenda! However, we cannot stay complacent so thanks to the @EU_Commission @DG R&I for featuring my thoughts in @HorizonMagEU!

Thank you @vonderleyen ! Nord Stream 1 opened the flood gates for the Ukrainian invasion! Now we need to make sure that our indépendance from Russia doesn't make us fossil dependant elsewhere. The energy transition must continue & hand outs to #oil #gas must stop ✋ @Earth4All_

Europe is putting Nord Stream 1 & 2 behind for good. We also propose to lower the oil price cap from 60 to 45 $ per barrel. Oil is one third of Russia’s government revenues. We need to cut this source. We'll discuss how to best coordinate with partners at the G7 Summit.

I’m honoured to join the #PECCH convened by @WHO as a Commissioner. The climate crisis is a health emergency. Rising temperatures, #airpollution, collapsing #food systems, and political instability are converging into a polycrisis and the time to act is now!

Heatwaves. Wildfires. Air pollution. New disease patterns. The climate crisis is already here - and it's threatening our health like never before. That’s why we are launching the first Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health #PECCH in Reykjavík 🇮🇸 on 11 June 2025.

Congratulations to @MarkJCarney and the Liberal Party on their election victory. The bond between Europe and Canada is strong — and growing stronger. I look forward to working closely together, both bilaterally and within the G7. We'll defend our shared democratic values,
