In hospitalized neonatal patients, dexmedetomidine use has increased over time. Future studies are required to further examine dexmedetomidine’s short- and long-term effects in this population.

Those in the medication group reported positive or neutral input from friends/family/partners& providers, while those in the cannabis group reported positive input from friends/mixed from family/partners & negative from providers, which was often felt to be stigmatizing.
