Congratulations to your world class SAFD EMS on celebrating their first 50 years of excellence. Hundreds gathered downtown to celebrate, including members of 'The First 55' (very first EMS class of 1974).

Today there was closure to the legal case in the arson death of Firefighter Scott Deem. In an agreement, a sentence of 30 years was issued for arson and murder. While this is the closure of the legal proceedings in this incident, some wounds will never heal.
One year ago, personnel with the San Antonio Fire Department and Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office were at site of the deadliest human-smuggling case in the country.
#InternationalWomensDay
The SAFD recognizes and celebrates all the women who have served, who continue to serve and those that will serve our department in the future.
Back in February, we asked you to help our SAFD Brother Albert, who was in need of a double lung transplant. We are thrilled to report Albert reported back to duty at SAFD today. Thank you all for the prayers and support.
Our hearts are broken. The SAFD is there to support our fellow Texans with resources and over 30 personnel, including our Fire Chief Charles Hood. We pray for all of those affected by this unbelievble tragedy.
Great rescue,
@SATXFire
E17 & M17! There were 3 dogs stuck in a small drainage tunnel. Crews were able to acquire a dog leash from a nearby civilian, make a girth hitch out of it, and were able get the dogs head through the leash and pull each one out out. Awesome!
