If any school, especially Primary school finds themselves in this position, please get in touch to share your experiences as this is something SATPE hopes to investigate, clarify and support schools in any way we can to help maintain quality Physical education across Scotland.

Also hearing some reports of PE equipment being not fit for purpose and being condemned where minor alterations can possibly be made instead. This has led to schools having to discard expensive equipment and not having the resources to replace it.

Concerned that the current climate has led to a school has had to resort to external funding applications to resource and teach one of the core curricular areas, essential in providing skills to allow pupils to participate in activities that can improve their wellbeing.
